Fire Recon
The video begins by dropping off a crew member down on the river in preparation for long line back haul work. It then continues on to a recon for line contingency planning.
Coming Soon To A Helibase Near You
The Helibase .com is a site dedicated to the fire fighting crews on US Forest Service, BLM, and local State and County wildland fires.
As I travel around the country flying helicopters on wildland fires, I attempt to capture the daily events typically found at the various helibases.
This site is about those fire crews and presented for their family and friends to be able to gain a little more insight as to what it's like to be working as a wildland fire fighter.
Occasionally during the off season, meaning flying other than fires, I'll continue to post helicopter related text, pictures and videos just because I know that some of you have love it as much as I do.
Please feel free to contact me via email or just leave a comment on this blog. I look forward to and enjoy hearing from you.

That is awesome Hon, that may be the best movie yet. XO
It's remarkable how steady the video and landings are given where the camera is!
This is also an awakening perspective of the danger & lonliness of a hot shot dropped in a small clearing surrounded by forests ablaze...I'll take a spot in the chopper any day!
Thanks to all who do this work
